FARMERS ALERT!
RE: MONTH-TO-MONTH LEASES WITH THE STATE
Since 1988 The Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) has been working with farmers leasing from the state on a month-to-month basis to set up long-term leases. In June 30, 1996, time runs out, unless HB-3184 (requesting an additional 1 year extension) is passed. DLNR has testified against the extension saying that all the month-to-month leases will have been converted to long term lease agreements by June 30, 1996. Is this so?
If you are still on a month-to-month lease and think that you may qualify for the conversion to a long-term lease agreement, it is important that you contact DLNR (587-0446), or our office (586-8520) as soon as possible!
If the law "sunsets" (ends) on June 30, 1966, farm leases that are still month-to-month "revocable" will be auctioned to the highest bidder. It's important that we protect your interests.
If your farm lease is not completed to your satisfaction please contact DLNR.
